I have insight road runner internet service but the modem is downstairs and im up stairs. is there a way were i can hook up a router up stairs and have it still connect to the modem downstairs?

Is the router wireless? Should be. Leave the router connected to the modem downstairs. Get a wireless adapter for your desktop computer, or if you’re using a laptop, see if it has wireless capability. If it’s fairly new, it should. If not, you need a wireless card.
