I have opened port 3389 on my router and checked the “Remote Desktop” box in my firewall. I am having a problem acessing my computer (except the ones in my network) I get generick IP adresses 192.168.1.108 it works fine in my network as I said but how do I do this outside. the error message is “can not connect to this computer….. try connecting if the problem continues bla..bla..bla!” My IP adress from work and the IP adress from home can’t be the same except for the last 3 #’s Correct? HELP PLEASE I went to whatismyip.com already and it gave me an address but I thought it was generic because it gave me the same one for my laptop. I also thought that logmein someone had to be at the other computer to accept permission. can I download files from one computer to another for free?

You could also try setting a VPN up from your work to your home network… quite a fast connection as well!
